RI Ask U.S. Aid to Attract Foreign Investors in Energy Sector

Jakarta - The Indonesian government took the U.S. Embassy to invite foreign investors from the country, Uncle Sam is investing in Indonesia's energy sector.
The discussion was organized in a discussion of 'The US-Indonesia Energy Investment Roundtable' which bertempatan at the Hotel Gran Melia, Jakarta, Monday (09/05/2011).
"The purpose of this discussion going forward is expected to help Indonesia to get investment for development and increased domestic production," said Tom Cutler as the USDOE Director for Europe and Asia Pacific Affairs in his opening speech.


The reason for this discussion held since Indonesia has a high potential in the energy sector, given that it could encourage investment in Indonesia's energy sector development which will also be able to open employment opportunities, as well as the Indonesian economy.
"It is hoped to open a technology development and also work there," he explained.
In the same place, in the opening, the United States Ambassador to Indonesia, Scott Marciel convey the potential of Indonesia is very big. It is said by him, there are more than 90% of undiscovered oil and gas reserves estimated to exist at sea in Indonesia.
In response, Minister Darwin Zahedy Saleh said to develop fossil energy and non-fossil found in Indonesia is needed also by the cooperation partners. It is also expected to have accelerated in the field of energy development in question.
"I also hope it will be increasing the efficiency of energy use, and I also plan to provide intensive fiscal order to encourage private investors to implement energy development in Indonesia," said Darwin who also gave a speech at the opening ceremony today.
